Bruton Parish Church
Website: www.history.org

The Bruton Parish Church building actually dates back to 1715. Much of the building is original brick. Some of the window glass is original glass.

The church is beautiful, inside and out. Volunteers are there to give continual presentations throughout the day. Actual mass is held at various times during the week. Times and dates are posted on the door.

The cemetary outside is currently fenced off from visitors, so can't walk among the graves, which is just as well.

Keep in mind that it is a functioning church, so a sense of decorum is appropriate inside. Additionally, note that the Church is not technically part of Colonial Williamsburg and does not get a part of your Colonial Williamsburg ticket price. On the other hand, you don't need a Colonial Williamsburg pass to visit the church.

Basically, it operates on donations from visitors, so drop a few bucks while you're there.

Address:

Corner of Duke of Gloucester Street and Palace Green Street

You can't park in Colonial Williamsburg. Either park at the Visitors Center and take the shuttle, or park in one of the small lots surrounding Merchants Square.
