It's a college bookstore. It's a Barnes and Noble. It's two stores in one.
The William and Mary bookstore is run by Barnes and Noble. As such, it combines textbooks with normal books. Since a goodly portion of the store is dedicated to college-related items, this store lacks the selection of a pure Barnes and Noble. It still has a load of books, but less than you might expect from a huge chain store.
On the other hand, it's conveniently located in Merchants Square, right next to the Colonial Area. It also has a large selection of William and Mary apparel and a decent selection of Colonial Williamsburg-themed clothes. (Meaning shirts that say "Colonial Williamsburg" on them. Not period clothing.)
